1) The Chrome extension Dex logo in chrome could change color (or have a little notifications sign on it) if the visited linkedin profile is already saved in the Dex DB.
2) The Dex Logo (right on the name on the profile page - could have a little notification.
3) Alternatively - a small Dex icon for each LinkedIn profile link on the page; with notification if already saved in Dex. Here's an example of the 3 points above functionality for HubSpot - https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/free-linkedin-to-hubspot/gmlnodfledbnihglacaejlfdjimaapkk

Better Chrome Extension identification of existing contacts when adding / linking
T
Todd Medema
I've been working on connecting all of my contacts to their LinkedIn profiles. Unfortunately, this is more painful than it needs to be.
For one, there's no way to sort or filter contacts based on whether they have a LinkedIn connected - but that's a separate issue.
The worse issue is when it comes to linking - the Chrome extension regularly fails to find contacts that already exist, instead creating new contacts that I then have to go back and manually merge. I would much prefer the extension to search overly wide.
Example of some contacts it failed to find matches for
- Heidi Medema vs Heidi (Medema) McDowell - last name changed in marriage... but still had it in her LinkedIn profile name
- Lauren Henry vs Lauren H. - if the last name is only an initial, search should broaden to a wildcard, e.g. Lauren H.*
- Sam Small vs Samantha Small - first names are commonly shortened (and sometimes in silly ways like Dick -> Bob). Perhaps if there's no direct match, try searching on just the last name?
