Be able to filter for contacts that have an email address but no name

I have a lot of email addresses that get automatically added to my contacts from things like email threads or calendar invites. A significant number of times these emails are for people who are already in my contact list, I just don’t have their email address associated with their profile. It would be great if the system was a bit smarter about seeing, for example, first name.last name@ or a first initial.lastnam@ email address and suggesting if it’s possibly a match for one of the closest matching contact names.
It’s challenging to having to manually try to identify every time I can find an instance of one of these emails and then go find the existing contact to merge to instead. (there seems to be no easy way to do a search for contacts that I only have an email address for and no other data points… Even trying to ask the AI copilot to list them all for me seems to fail)

Thanks for this feedback, J.! I could imagine it being pretty technically tricky to guess the contact's name from the email (since the patterns can vary so much).
Something we could definitely achieve much sooner, as you mention, is making it easier for you to filter for the contacts that have an email and not a name assigned. Would that be a worthwhile near-term fix?

Matthew Silberman totally! that’s actually what led me to this request. I tried to find a search filter that would do that to no luck, and tried using the AI agent with limited success, but if there’s a way to implement it that that would be amazing. Kicking out a list of every contact that is basically just an email address would be quite nice.

Awesome! I'll move this to our backlog 🙂
