This is amazing! Super useful for me.
Is it possible to also add a tag to a specific timeline event? This would enable quicker identification of notes or people rather than tagging the contact itself
Kevin Sun
Wladimir de Polignac: not yet, unfortunately! CJ perhaps we could create a separate feature request?

Kevin Sun: hi Kevin and CJ, any news on this separate feature? I love the tags function and it would be so useful to have it on a per time-line event basis. Thank you and happy holidays!

Hi Kevin Sun, this feature would be great and useful. Making a parallelism to a blog, I see groups as categories (vertical), and tags as... tags (horizontal).
I use groups for friends, family, network, ecc. And I would use tags to label contacts based on contexts, projects, events...

Adding a comment to bump this. Exactly what Bay says - don't want to clutter the groups, and just have tags. I wouldn't mind if you changed # to tags instead of # for groups.
Subgroups are a work around but I think it'll be a mess if i created 100 tags for 1 parent group.

Yes agree, tags are like groups but less formal and top-down, dont want them bloating the groups UI.
Examples for me are things like :
- this is a list of people I met at X event
- this is a list of people introduced to me by Y person
- this is a list of people I am currently talking to about Z opportunity
If all of these ^ were groups I would get bloated UI very quickly. Currently hacking around it by making groups but under a nested dummy group, still not great.

Hey Kevin Sun, I have a use case which fits this need. I tried to do it with a custom field but I couldn't because we can only select one category.
I have a community of product leaders. I want to the challenges each person has. E.g. manage performance, strategy, relationship with ceo, hiring, etc. Apart from writing down each challenge, I want to filter which people have that challenge; so that I can organize a session or content for them.
I would need to create 50+ groups for that. I don't think it's the best way. My recommendation is to allow us to have multiple categories on a custom field; and allow us to filter by custom fields. That way, we can recreate this tags/interests.

Hi,
the way I want this working is that:
(1) You will be able to filter by a tag
(2) You will see tags in network (i.e., people with same tag will have same colour)
Compared to groups, tags allow to TAG people out of different groups.
For example, I have people from different groups but want to tag them as "priority" to work on the relationship.

The use case I'm looking for is to tag people with topics of interest, like "dogs", "travel", "sushi", etc.
I don't think groups would work because it would create an extremely long list of groups, many with only a couple members.
A workaround is to enter the interest in the free text description so the contact will pull up when I do a general search for say "sushi"

Kevin Sun: awesome! This will be very useful.
Would it also be possible to have tags for individual notes as a separate field.
For instance after catching up with someone I could write a note, put a date, tag my contact and then in a separate field put note tags such as #business_idea or #birthday_wish
Many thanks
